Arran Medical Centre & Sheldon Medical Center both provide a range of NHS general practice services to our registered patients.

These include:
  • GP consultations
  • Practice nurse and healthcare assistant appointments
  • Long-term condition reviews
  • Childhood and adult vaccinations
  • Cervical screening
  • NHS health checks
  • Medication reviews
  • Maternity and family planning services
  • Referrals to other NHS services where clinically appropriate
  • Home visits for patients who are medically unable to attend the surgery
  • Online and telephone consultations
  • Other services provided as part of the NHS General Practice contract.

Some services may be provided by other NHS or community services rather than directly by the practice. Please contact the practice if you are unsure which service you need.

Antenatal Clinic

  • Arran Medical Center- Held by the Midwife on Friday mornings; for an appointment, please contact reception.

 

  • Sheldon Medical Center- Held by the Midwife Wednesday Mornings, for an appointment please contact the reception.

 

Family Planning Clinic

  • Arran Medical Centre- Run by practice nurse providing all possible family planning procedures including coil and insertion of implanon and depo injections, Just turn up and we are happy to see you.

 

  • Sheldon Medical the clinic is run by Dr Amjad (Female) Providing all possible family planning procedures including coil and insertion of implanon and depo injections, J

New Patient Health Screening

  • All new patients are requested to make an appointment for a health check with the Practice Nurse after filling in a health care questionnaire to provide information about their health.

Child Health and Immunisations

Please ask the reception if you need any help to avail of these services.

Chronic Disease Management

  • Normal appointment times with GP or nurse
  • Asthma,CHD, Diabetes COPD, Warfarin, CVD.

Minor Surgery

  • Please see a Doctor first. We do injection in joints, cryocautery, electrocautery, removal of small lumps- these are available at both Sites.

Phlebotomy

  • Tuesday and Friday on Both Sites

Primary Healthcare Team Services

  • Health visitors run clinics off site. District Nurses are attached to our practices. If you need domiciliary nursing facility, please contact the surgery.
